Postembryonic Development of The Edible Dormouse (Glis Glis Linnaeus, 1766)

چکیده
The period of postnatal development in the edible dormouse occurs before hibernation, causing a restricted growth. Four stages can be identified according to morphological and behavior nesting period. Dormice are born completely naked, unable move independently. During second stage (11–21 days), juveniles acquire variety movements. third (22–30 days) begins with opening eyes is associated activity outside nest. fourth (31–44 gradually become independent their mother. Bright peculiarity species postembryonic three simultaneous ways feeding from 16th day up end lactation on 39-43rd days: milk, chewed by mother food firm forages. In social interactions cases strict aggression scarce. Dynamic socio-hierarchical structure litters absence stepped hierarchy observed. As whole, during early ontogenesis strategy provides maximal survival posterity instead concurrence inside litters. Geographical differences time frames ontogenesis, found when comparison data different regions, maybe caused both intraspecific variation peculiarities local populations.

متن کاملBIOLOGY, DAMAGE AND CONTROL OF THE EDIBLE DORMOUSE (Glis glis L.) IN CENTRAL ITALY
The remarkable increase in the number of colonies of edible dormouse (Glis glis L.) registered in the litoranean industrial cultivations of Pinus pinea L. in northern Tuscany over the last ten years and the grave damage to the production of pine-seeds consequent on it has created the necessity of studying systems which may reduce the dormouse menace. Going on what has previously been discovered...
متن کاملTelomeres are elongated in older individuals in a hibernating rodent, the edible dormouse (Glis glis)
Telomere shortening is thought to be an important biomarker for life history traits such as lifespan and aging, and can be indicative of genome integrity, survival probability and the risk of cancer development. In humans and other animals, telomeres almost always shorten with age, with more rapid telomere attrition in short-lived species. Here, we show that in the edible dormouse (Glis glis) t...
متن کاملIsolation, characterization and PCR multiplexing of polymorphic microsatellite markers in the edible dormouse, Glis glis.
We isolated and characterized 10 dinucleotide microsatellite loci in the edible dormouse, Glis glis (Linnaeus). Four multiplex panels were developed. Loci were amplified in samples from two geographically distant populations (Torgny in Belgium and Montseny in Spain). All loci were polymorphic in Spain but four were monomorphic in Belgium. Individuals from Belgium and Spain exhibited an average ...
